OVERVIEW

Patrick T. Egan focuses his practice on securities litigation.  Mr. Egan has litigated numerous cases to successful resolution, recovering hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of defrauded investors. 

 

Prior to joining the firm in 1999 and being named partner in 2006, Mr. Egan worked at the U.S. Department of Labor, where he served as an attorney advisor for the Office of Administrative Law Judges.  While in law school, Mr. Egan served on the editorial board of the Suffolk University Law Review.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Currently serves as one of the firm's lead attorneys representing the Wyoming State Treasurer and Wyoming Retirement System in the IndyMac Mortgage-Backed Securities Litigation.
  • Served as one of the firm's lead attorneys representing the Michigan State Retirement Systems in the Bear Stearns Companies litigation stemming from the 2008 collapse of the company.  Plaintiffs successfully recovered $294.9 million for former Bear Stearns shareholders
  • Represented lead plaintiffs in a multi-district ERISA action against State Street Bank & Trust Company over State Street's alleged mismanagement of bond funds. The court granted final approval of a settlement of this case in excess of $83 million.
  • Helped secure a $180 million settlement for former shareholders in a pair of cases tied to a massive accounting fraud scheme at Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products, N.V., a bankrupt Belgian software company.
